Terms & Conditions



A. The provision of services and facilities.

B. Suitable staff both qualified and unqualified as required.

C. Controlling the administration of prescriptions and medicines unless the patient is self-medicating in accordance with agreed procedures.

D. Food and drink.

E. Laundry services.

F. Transport for the purpose of attending local appointments (subject to availability and at the discretion of the home.)

G. Accommodation.

The above will be suitably furnished with bed linen, towels, easy-chair, wardrobe and ariel point.

Communal facilities offered include communal T.V./Video, easy-chairs, dining facilities and gardens.



A. Hairdressing.

B. Religious Services.

C. Newspapers.

D. Telephone.

E. Escort Charges where applicable, Re: Hospital appointments etc.





A. This weekly fee (subject to annual review) for the provision of services facilities and food as laid down in the agreed amount is payable weekly/monthly (delete as appropriate) in arrears. Other payment arrangements may be made provided that they are agreed in writing between the service user and the home.

B. All service user are advised to contact local DSS office to see if they qualify for any additional payments. Should payments be available it is the responsibility of the service user or their designated advocate to claim the maximum fee allowed as appropriate. Any short fall between this amount and the fee will have to be met by the service user/family or responsible designated advocate.

C. When service users are not able by virtue of any incapacity to handle their own financial affairs the designated next if kin or advocate must sign the attached form.

D. For the avoidance of doubt any part of a day will constitute one full day and one week will constitute seven days for fee purposes.

E. The home reserves the right to charge any damage caused by the service user to the home or its contents (fair wear and tear are or course excepted).

F. Any sums of money brought into the home need to be advised to the Matron or the General Office Staff for safe keeping.



A. We are a no smoking home and have no designated area.

B. Alcoholic beverages may be kept in the service user bedrooms at the discretion of the person in charge.

C. Pets may not be kept at the home without the home’s approval.

D. Visitors are requested to sign the visitors book on arrival and departure for the purpose of fire regulations.

E. The service user retains the right to journey out alone from the home unaccompanied. However, there maybe circumstances in which this is medically contradicated and in no event should the home be viewed as being responsible for the safety of any service user who chooses to undertake any unaccompanied departure from the home.



A. Small pieces of furniture and electrical appliances appropriate to the accomodation may be introduces at the discretion of the person in charge.

B. Laundry owned by the patient must be clearly marked with his/her name or other distinguishing marks.



A. The service user will be required to participate in fire drills. These will be carried out at regular intervals.

B. All electrical appliances introduced by the service user must be made available for inspection by the home’s electrical engineer.

C. The home will reserve all safety requirements and the requirements of all relevant legislation. Responsibility for personal accident or injury to the service user cannot be excepted unless due to the home’s proven negligence.



A. The home is covered for insurance purposes at the date of this document. If any service user has items of particular value for which he/she requires extra cover he/she should inform the person in charge who will endeavour to assist in making the appropriate arrangements. Any valuable item may require further and specific insurance arrangements to be made by the service user or his/her advocate.



This contract maybe terminated in the following circumstances:-

A. By the giving of one months notice by the service user of the home at the end of the first four weeks of residency during which the service user and the home shall have established their mutual acceptability or otherwise.

B. By the home’s immediate notice on the event that the service user’s fee payment fall into arrears beyond two weeks (this clause will not be unreasonably invoked).

C. By the home’s giving of two, three or four weeks notice in the event that the service user were to cause undue disruption and distress to other service user and staff.

D. By the service user of the home giving four clear weeks notice at any time.

E. Immediately upon the service users death (in this event the home will notify the next of kin and offer all reasonable assistance with funeral arrangements in accordance with any known wishes of the deceased).
